The meteorology of mountain is very complex.

It is not common, statistically, that we start a trekking being in a steady high pressure weather. It is often necessary to foresee of bad weather and thus to foresee the adequate equipment. Weather forecasts are reliable only in the short term or in steady high pressure situation such as we knew in summer 2003.

In all other cases, it is necessary to watch the meteorological evolution the days before departure and to decide just before departure.
