Step 4 : from cabane des Audannes to Sanetsch Dam
Climb the small valley until the saddle ( la Selle), (2707 m) and follow the ridge path which brings you more high to Audannes pass (2886 m). You get a beautiful panorama on Alps valaisannes, the Mont Blanc and Alps vaudoises, 1h30.
To go down to "les Grandes Gouilles", you first have ladders and ropes, but it's without real difficulties under good conditions and for people used to be in mountain, 50 min.
From les Grandes Gouilles (it's ponds at 2471 m), go in the west direction, taking elevation in a steady way to reach the ridge (arête de l'Arpille), 2652 m, 1 h.
Then follow the ridge in the western direction until the road at Sanetsch Pass (2252 m), 45 min.
You arrive to Sanetsch Dam and the restaurant (Auberge du Sanetsch), following a good footpath on the right side of the lake(2050 m), 1 h.
Up 600 meters, down 1100 meters, 5 hours
